And how in the blue blazes in hell were the cops supposed to know that he was reaching for an inhaler? When a man becomes that belligerent, more times than not he is looking for his blade. There were a whole lot of variables in that whole deal. As for brutality against blacks, that was more than returned when the thugs beat Reginald Denny with a cinder block- a man that unlike RK, had done nothing wrong except be white during that mess (much like the baby in Roanoke back in the civil rights movement who was snatched and stomped into jelly by 3 young black men) . That violence thing has went both ways

Running from them on a high speed chase in a city while under the influence, you mean???...hell yeah, that's grounds for a beat down. He could have ran over a kid or wrecked into a vehicle carrying a family and killed em all...so hell yeah.

True, but that didnt happen. He didnt kill anyone or hurt anyone. I could understand restraining him because it appeared he was reaching for something. But for them to beat him, like they did, was a tad overboard.

I agree with that 100%. Of course, after burying my childhood best friend because of a drunk driver, I am a little biased. Excessive force is a touchy issue. There's alot of adrenaline involved when things get physical. Unless folks have had that situation happen to them, they really have no clue what goes on with the human body in cases like that. Bottom line: obey the law and save yourself an arse-beating.

No, but he put lives in danger...and if you had just climbed out of one of those squad cars, with the adrenaline and rage pumping (cuz you had seen incidents like that where someone was hurt...and he had just put your life in danger as well) you may have done the same thing. What he got was a lil overboard..but how do we know everything that really went on. When they say let me see your hand, that's what they mean. It's not exactly like this was the Wise Co. Sherriffs dept. pulling over someone for speeding..this is a totally different thing. BTW, I was in LAX while the riots were goin on waiting to go back to Schofield Barracks...and that was some crazy [censored] goin on that day.
